He pauses for a moment mid-braid, an awkward almost uncomfortable silence lingering between them at her question. As much as he wanted to blurt out that he wasnโt, his large fingers were already intertwining parts of her hair in an uncharacteristically delicate fashion. It was rare - almost nonexistent - for him to show any gestures of softness, so her even mentioning it made him feel disgusted inside.
โ No, I'm tying it in knots. โ
Jack sneers sarcastically, giving part of her hair a small but harsh tug before continuing to braid it. It probably wasnโt going to be the best braid job, but at least it would be out of the way. Not to mention, he was mildly curious to see how it looked with the two colors braided.
โ Of course Iโm braiding it, what kind of a stupid question is that? Now shut it and sit still, Iโm doing this to keep it from getting everywhere. โ
